Life Time is Now

“No such thing as spare time. No such thing as free time. No such thing as down time. All you got is life time. Go.” -Henry Rollins

This quote is a good reminder that despite what we are going through, this moment is our life time. Sometimes we feel the need to wait until the “right time.” Sometimes our negative thought patterns lead us to procrastinate, causing more negative thoughts because we did not accomplish our goals. Instead, why not try to live a values driven life in every moment? Start by evaluating your values and what is important to you. Make a list. Then map out how you spend your time. A quick google search can help you find a daily schedule planner. As the day progresses, fill in how you spent each 30 minutes. After a few days of that, compare how you spend your time with your values. Do they line up? Are you surprised how much time you spend doing certain things? Check this out. The average American spends 2 hours on social media a day. There is nothing wrong with connecting with others via social media, it is a great tool to connect. However, if you are looking at 2 hours every day, how is that impacting your life moving towards a life of purpose? Finally, consider taking out a fresh daily planner, and plan out how you would rather be spending your time, and make a goal to stick to that plan whenever possible. Obviously there are some things that we have to do, such as work or school. But is there a way to do it with from a positive perspective or with clearer intentions? My guess is, that there is.

“All you got is life time. Go.”
